Today, many new, and even died in the woods, photographers are migrating to digital cameras and away from the analog, or Instamatic cameras.  Ease of use, quality of pictures, and the numerous available digital photo developing tools is certainly a big lure.  Digital camera prints can now be generated in your home office on your own printer, or stored on a disk, taken to the corner store, and processed on the spot in any number of sizes and formats.  Ah, but the question now is, what is the best Digital Photo Printer for your needs.

Well the good new is that there are only two main types of digital printing technology.  One is the dye sublimation and the other is your more often found ink jet printer.  To find out which fits your needs best may take some serious research, and certainly depends on budget and how sensitive you are to overall quality.  Each produce great quality in their own right and each has advantages over the other.

The ink jet printer certainly is the more favored and popular as it is generally multifunctional giving you the ability to scan, copy, print documents, and yes produce very high quality photo prints.  The ink jet too gives you the ability to choose from a wide range of resolutions ranging up to 9600 dpi’s (dots per inch).  The Dye Sublimation though, with its heat technology, gives its 300 dpi’s gives you the same quality as a 4800 dpi on the ink jet printer.  Man, this stuff can give you a real head ache … but hang tough we will visit some additional information photo printers and then give you some links to visit various digital photo printer choices.
